YMCA-YWCA

I’m here to talk about the YMCA-YWCA. The YMCA-YWCA is a really good place to work out, and to bring your children to play and have fun. There are so many opportunities, games, sports, and day care. I used to play basketball there. I was one of their team members when I was younger. It was lots of fun. Every time I go it  helped me stay fit, energetic and always has a good place in the community. The YMCA-YWCA also helped me stay out of trouble and not to associate with any kind of gangs, which helped me out to be a better person today. I am 20 years old. I’m healthy and physically fit, drug and alcohol free.

I have a little boy. His name is Deshaun Jayden Jameson Kent. When he gets older, I’m going to get him involved into the YMCA-YWCA. So I know he will be in a safe place to be healthy and having him playing sports, and all kinds of activities. I got introduced to the YMCA-YWCA through my school Eagle Circle. I’m glad they did. I still go to the three til this date, March 5, 2010. My first day was in 1997.

In the year 2002. I was trying to quit smoking many of times, but I failed. I tried everything; the patches -Nicorette gum. I still didn’t have any luck. So I tried going to the YMCA-YWCA and eating regular gum. I started to see better results, I wasn’t craving or really thinking of cigarettes. It took me 3 months to fully quit. Then I started on a new task. I tried to quit drinking in 2005. I found it was easier to quit drinking then smoking. I still haven’t smoked or started drinking. It’s been over 5 years now. The YMCA-YWCA helped out a lot with this goal.

I agree that the YMCA-YWCA plays a very important role in developing a healthy lifestyle. I spent a lot of time there as a young child and as a result have always enjoyed being physically active. I believe that having a positive outlet in life is important in helping people stay away from bad influences and reaching their goals, as you have so nicely stated.

I totally agree that the YMCA is the best place to make a difference and to reach your goals. Knowing that I also go to the YMCA. I have been going there for the past 5 years. It has changed my lifestyle. I say to all my friends and family the YMCA is like a second home. I come and go everyday and I never can get enough of it.

I love the Y. I usually go 2-3 times a week and everytime I meet someone new. It’s a great place to stay fit, make friends and compete with others that are on your level.

The YMCA-YWCA is a good place to go. I’m glad you made some positive choices in life! I go there to get back into shape and take some stress off. I really enjoy working out and would rather do that than to put alcohol and drugs in my system. I feel so much healthier than before when I use to smoke, party and so on. The YMCA-YWCA is a great place to take your kids and I will continue to take mine.

I also agree that the YMCA-YWCA is a good place to go for exercise, meeting new people, and the programs they offer.
I’m happy that you quit smoking and drinking, you make a good role model for those who struggle to quit and make your life living healthy. Keep up the good work JESSE!!

I also have had a family membership for the YMCA for several years. For a very reasonably monthly fee my kids have been able to take regular tae kwon doe, swimming, wrestling and gymnastics classes. We also enjoy going to the parties they have for Christmas, Easter and Halloween. I will definitely be renewing my membership for the duration of my kid’s childhood, and possibly even after.

I can also agree that the YMCA is a great place for people of all ages. There is numerous and endless possibilities. The YMCA has a great environment and awesome staff. They are also willing to meet people’s financial needs so pretty much anyone can be a member which helps greatly in keeping young adults out of trouble.

After reading this blog, it has allowed me to agree with the writer in so many ways from my personal experience. I am a young individual myself who has and today is struggling with my health and well being. I first went to the YMCA-YWCA at the age of sixteen with my respite worker while I was in foster care. During those visits I would use the gym area and felt very secure in a great environment. After these workouts I would always feel refreshed and ready to go the alternating evenings! The writer states that it would keep them out of trouble. It also did with myself which helped me keep motivated not only as an individual but as a mother to an infant son. At the age of nineteen in 2009, I found myself a marvelous employment and training opportunity with the Youth Department of the YMCA-YWCA. This was when I created my very first resume and landed an exciting internship as an Executive Assistant in a federal government department. They taught me a lot of roles and responsibilites that you need to be a positive and succeeding employee. I believe the YMCA-YWCA has changed my life in a lot of ways and has given me a better understanding of who I am and who I want to be. I am currently working towards obtaining my grade 12 mature student diploma here at the Winnipeg Adult Education Centre. I am considering renewing my Y card because my next goal is to get physically healthy and I miss those good feelings that come after the workouts. Thanks for the inspiring blog Jesse, hooray for the YMCA-YWCA!

I think the YMCA is a great place to go. They have everything you need to start making healthy lifestyle choices. The programs they offer members are free of charge and the instrutors are great. I used to go camping with them as a kid, (can’t recalled the program name and I learned to swim there). It’s a great place to meet people and find friends. They also help a lot of low income families, which I think is fantasic.
