Cell Phones
I do not suggest anybody should get a cell phone unless reading the fine
print. Did you know that phone companies still charge you after you get cut
off? Phone companies don’t care about how customers feel about the bill
after they get their phone cut off. They still charge you even though your
phone is not working and even if you had paid a little at a time. I think
whoever owns the company is just greedy for money. They are just a big rip
off and your credit rating goes down because of this.
Buyer beware please read fine print before getting a cell phone or signing
any contracts.

I agree , the same thing happened to me , but with Rogers. How can you keep up with payments when they keep raising
your bill, to the point where you can’t keep up with your payments
anymore.
IT’S CRAZY!!

Hi Natalie,
Your letter about cell phone are totally true. Which is why i always buy prepaid cellular phones so i wont get stuck in a debt that is ridiculously high beyond my time of phone usage.
Great Topic!

I would also be cheesed off if I found that I was still being charged for a phone that I am not using and that is out of service. I also believe that a lot of these companies are out of the money, that is obvious with all big companies. Tread ever so softly before signing any contract. Good post Nat!

I AGREE WITH THIS PERSON 110%!!!! my last phone bill was supposed to be $33. Guess how much it was!! $103.99!!! Apparently I was $68 over my texting budget. Which is totallly not true, I hardly even text!!!

Your definitely right about reading fine print, but its not the cell phone your paying for. Its actually the service that you’ve signed for. Even though your out of the service area or your phone is off and/or your not using it. The monthly bill you get doesn’t pay for the phone, it pays for the service. Sure its quite pricy now a days but the big cell phones companies are spending millions on research and maintenance to get the top notch quality service so you don’t receive bad reception or no service out there. Basically to connect and network alot easier. You basically pay for what you get. Even if your cut off there are certain agreement breach fees that are required so you don’t get the bad credit or calls from the escalation offices. It certainly is not a rip off, but more of a misunderstanding and communication issue between the cell phone reps. I would give a word of advice and really listen to your cell phone representative and ask questions if you have any because you don’t want to get screwed over like nat did.

Cellphones in the adult class rooms are one talk when she/he get’s up and leaves the room. Try and pick up your cellphone when you are at work she/he will out looking for work. There’s a lot of time to talk on your time when your not in class and work.
