Your answer for these questions have been great so far.  Please go back to last week’s questions and respond to the comments I left you on your answer (I would like everyone to do this).

There is only one question this week and you can use what we have been working on in class the last few weeks to help you.  Along with how you found your answer (can be written in English), please write in French what the pattern is.

Sheldon discovered a new health drink, Slime Tonic, while working in his laboratory.  On Monday he brewed one bottle of tonic. On Tuesday, he brewed 4 bottles; on Wednesday, he brewed 7; and on Thursday, he brewed 10. How many bottles did he brew on Friday? How many bottles did he brew the next Tuesday?

Please do the first question.  The second is optional but great practice.

Remember what we discussed in class about finding the important information and knowing what is being asked.

1. Barney is a good salesman.  He sold thousands of chocolate-covered mosscakes on his last sales trip.  He sold 4 503 cases in Peoria, 5 304 cases in Abilene, 4 353 in Wilmington and 5 043 in Little Rock.  Anytime he sells more than 4 500 cases in a city he gets a bonus of $1000.  How much bonus money did he earn on his trip?

2. 5 000 glow-in-the-dark rings were sold at the first Boogaloo Banshee Band concert.  Every time the band gave a concert, the total number of rings sold doubled.  They gave four concerts on their summer tour.  How many rings did they sell at the 4th concert?

There are two questions again this week.  All students must complete the first one and the second is optional.  Please explain or show how you found your answer.  If you did the question on paper then write what you did.

Question 1

The Blah Network is showing some great new television shows.  Penrod’s new favourite is Wallpaper Weekly.  It starts at 9:15 A.M.  The show itself is 75 minutes, but there are two 2-minute commercials and four 30-second commercials in there as well.  What time is it over?

Question 2

Chuck delivers The Daily Blab in his neighbourhood.  It is collection day on Chuck’s paper route.  He got a $10 bill, a $1 bill and a nickel from Mr. Yawn.  He got a $5, two $1 bills and 4 quarters from Mrs. Yap.  He got two $5 bills and a 5 dimes from Ms. Yelp.  Who paid Chuck the most money?  How much?

Please answer the following math questions by replying to the post.  All students must do the first question and those wanting an extra challenge can do the second.  Please explain or show how you found your answer and use a complete sentence.

Question 1

Chef Crayzee was making his infamous pie a la bug.  His special recipe called for 41 black ants, 52 beetles, 29 mealworms, 27 red ants and 16 flies to make one batch.  How many ants does he need to make two batches?

Question 2
