Valentine’s Day

Room 308 will not be having a party for Valentine’s day. Students who would like to hand out cards will have time on Friday, February 13th. Any student handing out cards will need to include every student in the class. We will be having a spring celebration on March 27th in the afternoon. Families scheduled to send in a snack are Brett, Jack, Evan, Cassandra (juice) and Declan (paper plates and napkins).

Materials required for new unit

We will be starting a new unit in January and require some supplies. Would you be able to help us out?

Each student will need a fashion doll (Barbie etc.) This can be an old doll or from the Dollar Store etc. It can be a girl or boy doll. I hate to say it, but clothing not required!

We will also need the following:

-old, white pillow cases or bed sheets (will not be returned)

-old nylons/panty hose (will not be returned)

-several boxes of sugar cubes

-several blocks of floral foam (the green spongey cubes that florists use)

We will gladly accept any donations of these items!

Winter Concert – December 11

The grade 4 to 6 classes are responsible for the winter concert this year. We will be presenting music through the decades to go with our 100 anniversary. The students in room 308 have started working very hard on their presentation.

The girls will need to wear a dress or skirt and plain top and the boys should wear black pants and a white shirt. Please let me know if you have any trouble finding the required clothing. Thanks

Parent/teacher/student conferences

Conference times will go home this Friday. Your conference will be either Thursday, November 20 (evening) or Friday, November 21 (all day). Melissa will be available for the conferences Thursday evening and Friday morning.

I encourage the students to attend the conference with their parents. I feel that as we are discussing their learning it would be beneficial for them to be there and take part in the conversation.

Assembly

Our class along with room 208 will be leading a school assembly on October 8th. The theme of the assembly is respect. Parents are invited to the assembly at 9:00. Hope to see you there!
