This week in class we started writing personal reflections on our chosen communities. The students then helped me come up with some activities and criteria for how to share the message of their community with the class. Part of the planning stage of this project is to write a rationale for why a specific project was chosen (for example a poster, powerpoint, podcast, brochure, story etc.).

I would like each of you to share what your project will be and include your reason for choosing it. While writing, I would like you to consider the following questions.
- Is your message clear?
- Can you express your feelings about the meaning of your community?
- Will your audience (the class) understand?
- Are you able to include enough description and detail in your chosen project?

Start by explaining what your project is and then write a paragraph about why you think it will be the best way to share your message. Please feel free to ask any questions you have at this time.

These are due Monday and you can respond by leaving and comment on this post. This is a writing assignment so grammar, spelling and clarity are all important.

I chose a powerpoint presentation because I want to show pictures and a reflectoin. The reasons why I chose to do my community on Ecole Riverview School is because I go to the school and I have many freinds there and I also enjoy being in the french immersion class with grades 3,4.I hope to show the class the pictures I will take about my communtiy,THE GREAT RIVERVIEW SCHOOL!!!

    -Idea PowerPoint
How it meets the criteria PowerPoint gets the meaning and the feeling because it has pictures of stuff in my community. I think it would be interesting because it shows you all of the pictures inside the school and you can tell what is on the outside of the school. I think PowerPoint would a good way to see my community.I think it would be a good way to describe a PowerPoint.

I have chosen Riverview because it is where I live, play hockey, play soccer, go to school and all of my friends live here.

I have chosen to describe my community by using a photostory. I think that pictures are a good way to explaine things sometimes.
I think that since everyone in the class lives in Riverview they will know what the
    places are.

For my project I will make a poster to tell about my Hockey community. My poster will include drawings, photos and writing. A poster is a good way to share information. On a poster you can do many differant things. I think a poster will be fun to do.

My project is a PowerPoint presentation about why B.B. Camp is a community. B.B Camp is a Jewish camp in Lake of the Woods. That I have gone to for the last two summers.

I think PowerPoint will be the best thing. I have lots of pictures that I took when I went there. I will put the PowerPoint on slideshow. I will show it to the class on the smartboard. I can put my writing and my pictures on the slideshow to explain why B.B Camp is a community.

I chose the Power point presentation because I can do a lot more than I can think of. I am going to put writing and pictures. Pictures are going to have writing under them and a page of writing at the end. I think that the power point is the best for me because you can have pictures and writing.

My project is a board game. One of the reasons I picked a board game is that it would be very fun to make and it would take a lot of work. I also picked a board game because you have to put a lot of thought in to it. I am going to get as much stuff as I can about my soccer community. Have a nice day and good bye.

I chose a PowerPoint because my feeling when I present projects is that my audience will know that feeling and how I feel in my house and how it looks to be in my house.

I chose powerpoint. I chose it because I can use pictures to show what Braunsdale is.
Then I can also have words to describe why I chose the picture also to tell what the picture is. This will help people see and learn about my community.

I chose a poster because I will talk about lots of stuff on my community which is my soccer team. I am also going to put some pictures from the computer on my poster. I also like art and drawing espesilly drawing. I am also going to draw a picture of myself. A poster will tell them what my commmunity is and what it means to me. It also will have lots of writing to tell them what you do in that sport.

I choose a sculpcher. I’ve always wanted to try to make a 3D sculpcher. I think it will get the message across well. The class will probably understand my Community. There is alot more than enough detail.

I chose a scupture as my progect. I think it would be a good idea because it would show it in 3D. I chose it because it would show close up things. You could see how I like it and get that feeling. I already have the cardboard and I’ll get the other things ASAP.

For my community project I am doing a hockey team. To show it I am doing a newspaper. On it I would incloud more spsific people and some places where the team plays like the grant park rink where we have a practic every Tursday and some games too. I think it would show my community because it would have more writing than pictures.

I am doing a podcast and the reasons I picked a podcast are most people don’t have access to recorders. You picture it in your head like reading a book.I’m doing a podcast a podcast is a recording on the computer. A podcast is like you phone someone and they aren’t home you voice mail them.
