After reading the chapter in Silverwing called the Echo Chamber, three of the students from room 308 created a newspaper to tell us a bit about what we learned in the chapter.
Please look at their work and reflect on the chapter or their newspaper. What did you think of while reading the chapter? Do you agree with the information they decided to write about? Would you have added anything? Do you have different thoughts about the chapter after reading the newspaper? What else are you thinking of after the chapter?

I thought that while reading the chapter
that Shade is special. I also think that they were right and I don’t think I would really need to change anything.
why were the owls comeimg with fire?
I think that chapter 3 was really exciting.
The newspaper could have included more information on how things happend and more specific on when but I think it`s really good.
I think it’s very good the echo chomber. I think the pictuer’s very very good.
I agree with what the three people wrote in the class. The pictures look like what happens in the story because it looks like in one picture that he is flying down to the bottom. I would of added another picture of shade and freda in the echo chamber. I was thinking that it was a really good chapter.
I like the newspaper so far!!! I read it in the classroom all the time, I’m on the second paragraph of the newspaper. Would it be possible to slow down the photo speed so I can read it in one piece? How do you think the bats smooth out the wall? I wonder what the answer is going to be to the question about the metal band. I don’t remember the birds winning the war, I thought that there was no winner.
I really like the 6th picture. I think that it is exactley like the book.
I was thinking that it was cool that Shade got to hear the stuff in the echo chamber. He was a lucky bat. I do agree with the newspaper. I could have added in the end that the owls had fire. I was thinking about the owls and what they would do.
I think shade was feeling kinda weird when he came with frieda to the echo chamber.I argee with the auther wrote about the echo chamber.I would not of added anything.I think I would have the same thoughts of reading the newspaper.I am thinking about what shade is thinking.
I agree with the poster I like how they told what happend in The Echo Chamber. My favourite part was when frieda was talking to Shade about the bands. At the very end of the chapter the book said the owls are coming and they have fire I was wondering what that ment?
Everyone did a great job on the newspaper! I thought it was cool how echos could stay in the echo chamber for a hundred years. I think Shade is lucky that he can hear the echos in the echo chamber.
I think that chapter 3 was the best chapter so far! This is why…… it was so interesting hthey were talking about shades dad. I really liked how they were talking about the people, but I really liked how they used the word humans.I forgot to say stuff about the bands that was pretty cool! How Shade was one of the bats that could hear storys that showed that he is very special!Now I will talk about the newpaper.I think the group that did the nawpaper did pretty good. Sometimes I was a little confusid but athor than that it was pretty good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did the owls get the fire in there claws?
Why did the owls come with fire and why did they use the fire to burn Tree Haven? I thought it was strange that all the other bats were staring at Shade because he did his best when he tried to put out the fire. I also think it was very brave of Shade when he tried to take fire from an owl. I thought this was the best chapter yet and it was very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like your newspaper but I think you gize could of added a little more colour etherwize. I really like how you made it so neat and tidy! Fabulous job!!!!!!
I agree, I got the impression that Shade is special too. What made you think that?
That is a good question. We found the answer in the next chapter, how did you feel when you found out why they were coming with fire?
The pictures are great and the group did an excellent job of showing how they see the echo chamber.
I think it was a good chapter too. Why would you have added the pictures of Shade and Freida?
If you change the pictures to show the thumbnails rather than the slide show it should slow down. I believe the birds did win the war but we can look at this again in class. Next time we read you can spend a few minutes and go back. I also wonder how the bats smoothed the wall, it must have been a lot of work.
What reminded you about the book in this picture? Did you like the chapter?
I agree that Shade was a lucky bat! Is that something that all bats get to do? It is an important point at the end that the bats had fire, it was a very busy chapter. How do you feel about what the owls did once we read the next chapter. Great reflection!
Chapter 3 was exciting! I think the group was able to include a lot of information, what would you have added about how things happened?
What do you think Shade is thinking? Why do you think he was feeling weird when he went with Freida? It is interesting that you would have had the same thoughts as the newspaper. Don’t forget to leave a space after a period at the end of your sentences.
I think a lot of people were wondering what was going to happen with the owls. The group did do a great job of sharing what happened in the Echo Chamber. What do you think the bands will mean in the end?
That is a very nice compliment for the group that worked so hard on the newspaper. I agree that it is very neat the echos can stay in the echo chamber for so long. Shade must be very special to hear the echos.
I’m glad you liked the newspaper. It is interesting that you noticed the bats referring to people as the humans, why do you think that is? What did you like about the bands? Shade is very special, you did a great reflection.

That is a great reflection, you’re one chapter ahead of the newspaper group though. Soon we will give you another chance to think about this chapter. The chapter was great and you did some great writing.
That is a nice thing to say about the newspaper, the group worked very hard. How did you like the chapter? Did you find anything particularly interesting?
Not all the bats are as lucky as Shade. I was kind of upset because then the bats would have to find another roost. Freda said in the chapter 4 one life is more important than one roost and saved Shade’s life.
Ithink that the bats call people humans because mybe they have a diffent word for bats mybe it`s …..juleg. I also think that some of the bats got bands because mybe there are diffent and mybe the promise is going to come tru in mybe fridas live.
Hi mme I think that the bands that the humans put on the bats are going to mean in the that when every time that that human comes the human is going to look for that exact bat.
