Q1 there are 41 black ants and 27 red ants in the pie. There are 68 ants in one pie. 60 + 60 = 120 and 8 + 8 = 16. 120 + 16 = 136. There are 136 ants in two pies.
Q2 There are three countries that start with u. Upper volta has 789. Uraguay has 99. Ugada has 25. 99 + 25 = 124. 124 + 89 = 213. 213 + 700 = 913.There are 913 noodles in countries that start with u.
I figured out how to get the anwser by doing 27×2=54.
He need’s 82 black ants + 56 red ants =136 ants.
#1- 136
#2- 913
Chef Crayzee needs 134 ants to make two batches of pie a la bug. (41+27)x2=68×2=134.
For chef crayzee’s question I added up 27+27=54 (for the red ants.) and 41+41=81 (for the black ants) so I used the number line and got the answer of 136.
Chef Crayzee needs 136 ants to make pie a la
bug.
41+27=68
68+68=136
For Natashas problem I used the number line I did 12 10’s 4 1’s. so it was 789+99+25=913
1. Chef Crayzee needs 136 ants to make 2 batches of pie a la bug.
80+40+7+1=136.
2. Natasha Noodlenova has 913 noodles from countries that start with .
This is how I know :
789+99+25=913
1) 41+27=68.
2) 789+99+25=913.
I did 41+41=82 and 27+27=54. So then I added up 82+54=136. So the answer is 136.

Question 1
41+27=68+27+41=136
I found the answer by doing a line of numbers.
Chef-Crayzee-needs-68-ants-in-total.
Their-is-912-noodles-from-places-that-start-with-U.
correction…913-noodles
I figured out how to get the anwser by
doing 789+99=888 888+25=913.
Question 1.
The answer is 136. it takes 68(41+27)to make one batch. two batches would be two times as much. So for 2 batches the chef needs 136 ants.
The anser to the second question 913.
88 ants. 40+20=60+1=61+10=71+10=81+7=88
upper volta 789
uraguay 99
uganda 25
913
`
I added 789 + 99+ 25 and got 913.
I grouped up all the ants ants and the answer is 136.
I grouped all the noodles togther and the anwser is 913.
27+27=54 He needs 54 red ants for two batches.
789+99+25=913 There are 913 noodles started with the letter U.
I did it like this. 789+99+25=913
Ithought it was alittle hard
136
answer
I really like how you showed how you found the answers and that you took the challenge of doing both questions. Bravo!
You did an excellent job multiplying and showing how you found 54 – don’t forget there are two differnt types of aunts needed in the recipe.
Bravo! You did a great job showing how you found the answer.
You’re right! How did you find those answers?
You did a lot of math for this questions and explained it very well. Good job!
Bravo! You did excellent work on this question and I can easily see how you found the answer.
Did you find this question more challenging than the first one? You did a great job again of explaining everything…I can even picture your number line.
The strategies you used for question 1 are great. How did you do the addition for question 2?
Don’t forget in question 1 there are 2 types of ants needed in the recipe. You did great work with your addition, what strategies did you use to help?
Well done! I liked your explanation as to how you found the answer. Did you do anything to help you with the addition?
Bravo! The number line is very helpful when doing addition.
You’re right! Did you do anything to help you when adding the numbers?
What a great explanation! I like how you used words as well as numbers to show your answer. Bravo!
That is the answer – how did you find it?
I really like how you broke the addition up and showed tens and ones. Don’t forget there were 2 types of ants needed for the recipe.
Great work! Was it hard to add 3 numbers at one time?
Bravo! When you grouped all the ants what math strategies were you using? Can you show us?
Good work, thanks for showing the answers and taking the challenge of doing both questions. Don’t forget in question 1 there are 2 types of ants needed for the recipe.
I think that is a great way of doing it. Did you use a strategy to help you add all three numbers together? Bravo!
I really like how you showed your answer. You were using very good strategies. You might want to check 68 x 2 again because you are very close to the answer! Good work!
It was a tricky question, you did a great job of finding the answer, can you tell me how you did it?
How fabulous is this!!!!??? What a motivator for the kids to get instant and positive feedback (never mind an “email” from their teacher!) Your comments are great and so encouraging- this is great Liz! It is a ton of work I am sure, but I am sure you find it addicting.
Have a good weekend…try not to turn on your computer
Question 1
40+40=80+2=82 black ants
20+20=40+7=47+7=54 red ants
80+50=130+6=136
a total of 136 ants are needed for the recipe.
Question 2
Upper Volta=789
Uraguay=99
Uganda=25
789+1=790+20+4=814+100=914-1=913
There are 913 noodles from countries that start with U
I added the first two numbers in my head. I wrote the answer down and then added the other number.
there were 789 upper volta and 25 from uganda and 99 from uraugay and I added them together and got a total of 913.That’s how I got the answer.
How did you find your answer? Don’t forget there are 2 types of ants needed. I like how you wrote a sentence for your answer.
fist I did 20+20=40 then Idid 7+7=14 then I did 40+14=54. Then I did 40+40=80 then i did 1+1=2 then I did 80+2=82.the last thing I did was 80+50=130 then i did 2+4=6 . then I did 130+6=136 and that is how i got the answer.
This is how I figured out the answer :
I made a 100 with the 99 and 1 one from the 25 & then I took another 1 from the 25 to make 789 change to 790. Then I added the 23 to 890 which adds up to 913.
41+41=82
27+27=54
82+54=136
He need 136 ants for two batches.
