Dear Families,

At the beginning of the school year all teachers from Nursery to Grade 6 spend time discovering the individual strengths and needs of their students. One way that teachers do this is through the Winnipeg School Division Comprehensive Assesment Program (CAP). This assessment is completed in September and October in Grades 1-6 and continues in November in Nursery & Kindergarten. It provides information about your child’s skills and development. The information is used to plan appropriate next steps for your child’s learning. Included in this report is a summary of your child’s strengths and needs based on this CAP assessment.

In addition to the CAP information families will also receive a report card with marks based on a 4 point scale. This grading system is used in Grades 1-6 and will be familiar to most families. these marks represent your child’s progress in meeting the learning outcomes of the Manitoba curriculum.

Your child’s teacher will discuss the CAP information and your child’s progress with you at the November parent teacher conferences. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

Thank you,
Mrs. R. Moore, Principal
Mr. T. Marchione, Vice Principal

Last year our school collected a total of $2,613.72 !

This year students will be completing the Walk for Water during their Physical Education class. Students will carry water jugs on their heads simulating what it’s like for African children to walk great distances for fresh water.

Attached you will find a form that outlines our fundraising goals. We are requesting your assistance with this exciting opportunity. The pledge form can be used to record donations in any amount. Donations over $25.00 will be receipted by Unicef at the end of our campaign. Cheques can be made payable to Unicef Canada. Money should be returned in an envelope or a zip lock baggy. As an option, a glass jar will also be available in the office for any donations of spare change.

Thank you for your willingness to support such a wonderful cause. Together, we can all make a difference! Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions.
