Potluck and Movie Refund

Dear Parents,

Just a reminder that the Potluck is tomorrow evening at 6:30pm. We won’t be having it in the library anymore as the carpets are being cleaned. However, since it’s going to be such a beautiful day, I thought we could move the setting outside to the school’s courtyard!

On a different note, there were some issues regarding the cost of the movie for Monday’s activity day event. Students who attended were over-charged, and if your child attended the movie s/he has a $6.50 refund waiting at the school. You can just have them come to me and I’ll give them the refund in cash.

Thanks for all you do, and we’ll see you tomorrow!

More Camp Info

As there are only a few days remaining before we head to camp, I would like to send out a few reminders just on the off chance that the information isn’t being brought home.

1) An information letter was sent home regarding protocol that we would follow in the case of an emergency. It includes contact information for camp, etc.

2) All forms and payment would be gratefully received no later than this Friday. I need to deposit it before we leave.

3) We have been blessed with Bonnie, Dawn, and Juliana as drivers/volunteers to stay with us at camp.

4) Dave is not able to attend this year due to the fast-approaching wonderful addition to his family, so the lovely Cael Rollins is stepping up to take his place.

5) The water is safe to drink at West Hawk. It is unnecessary to send huge vats of water to camp, and we are boycotting the cases of small water bottles in an effort to remain as environmentally friendly as possible. I suggest sending your child with a water bottle, and perhaps packets of drink crystals to cover the taste.

6) Your children (in their camping groups) are responsible for all of the gear and food to sustain themselves for a two-nightm three-day adventure. Gear lists have been sent home, food arrangements have been made. We should be good to go.

7) If you  have any questions or last minute concerns, please do not hesitate to call me at the school during the day (474-1301), or at my home during the evening (452-1819). If I don’t answer, feel free to leave a message as I will be out of town throughout the weekend, but will be checking my e-mail and phone for messages.

8) This should be fun….the long-term weather forecast calls for sun and hot-but-not-too-hot temperatures.

With thanks for every single thing that you do!

Flex Update, June 15th

Hey beautiful people!
Just want to follow up with a few things regarding camp…
1) The cost is $100.00 plus food. There is a discrepancy on the forms.
2) WE are in desperate need of drivers.
3) WE would love a volunteer or two to accompany us – it would not only be so much fun, but an awesome bonding experience for you and your child! In a perfect world we would have 3 volunteers. Right now we have 1. If we end up with all of the volunteers we are hoping for, we would not need drivers.
4) Students will be completing their food and gear forms in class tomorrow. I will photocopy them, and have your child highlight what they are responsible for bringing. That should alleiviate the pressure for one parent to purchase for a whole group.
5) We have a severe peanut allergy in the group…Severe as in airborne… If the group member touches, tastes, smells it, etc.. we will be in serious trouble. Life and death trouble. NO ONE CAN BRING PEANUTS OR ANYTHING CONTAINING PEANUTS to camp. All other nuts are fine as long as they were not processed with peanuts.
That’s it for today…
With thanks,
Tanis Westdal
