Please view Argyle’s Wind Turbine Video.   A wind turbine and solar panel have been installed on top of Argyle Alternative High School.  It is used to power water culture and hydroponics systems.  Herbs are grown for the cafeteria and plants are grown for the Outdoor Educational Classroom.

How much energy does the wind turbine produce? What would I be able to run at home if I was relying on this form of energy for my home?

  • Adv.:

Argyle Alternative High School uses a 300 Watt system. With this system, Argyle can power up to 12 (twelve) T5 Flourescent Full Spectrum Ligting “bulbs”.

The Start up wind speed for our system is 6mph, Related Power is 200 watts at 28 mph and Survival Wind Speed is 110 mph.
